Did you know that to be a credentialed teacher librarian, you first must be a credentialed classroom teacher? To become a librarian, one must take 32 additional units on librarianship.
I received my bachelor’s in Anthropology at CSU Fresno. I came to Sacramento to pursue graduate work in Anthropology but quickly found out that it wasn’t for me. I pursued two years of English courses at CSU Sacramento before enrolling in the credential program at UC Davis. I received my single subject credential in English with CLAD certification. I taught English 9, English 10, SDAIE 10, and Intermediate ELL at Florin High School for 6 years before going back to CSU Sacramento for my Library Media Services Credential. I’ve proudly been at Sheldon High School as a librarian since December 2005.
